Shanghai, China – November 2025 – Evonik is expanding its long-chain polyamide production in China, marking a major step in strengthening its leadership in high-performance polymers across Asia. The company has successfully completed the trial run of a second polyamide reactor at its Shanghai Multi-User Site, paving the way for a doubling of production capacity by the end of 2025.
Boosting High-Performance Polyamide Supply for Asia
The new production line focuses on high-performance long-chain polyamides, addressing the fast-growing demand in markets such as sports equipment, automotive, and new energy vehicles (NEVs). With the expansion, Evonik is set to enhance local supply, shorten delivery times, and support sustainable, lightweight design innovations in key industries throughout Asia-Pacific.

Evonik’s high-performance polyamides play a critical role in next-generation applications—from lightweight automotive components and thermal management systems for electric vehicles, to energy storage and premium consumer products.
The expansion will also strengthen regional production of AABB polyamides and PEBA elastomers, versatile materials used in automotive tubing, monofilaments, and high-performance sports footwear. With demand for advanced materials accelerating across mobility, sports, and consumer electronics, Evonik is well-positioned to support Asia’s transition toward more efficient, sustainable product designs.
